Well-being is important for developing important democratic competences. Positive emotions are associated with the development of flexibility and adaptability, openness to other cultures and beliefs, self-efficacy and tolerance of ambiguity. (the Council of Europe Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture.) Partners from 6 European countries: Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Latvia decided to prepare a common project.
The project will focus on impacts of different factors enhancing inclusion at schools across Europe, the tool for dealing with the topic of inclusiveness in the countries involved will become a theme of well-being . Since well-being has many faces, improving students’ well-being in schools requires a whole-school approach. The project will touch on many of benefits of improving of well-being as an important part of inclusivity at schools: Emotional well-being – the ability to be resilient, manage one’s emotions and generate emotions that lead to good feelings Physical well-being – the ability to improve the functioning of one’s body through healthy eating and good exercise habits Social well-being – the ability to communicate, develop meaningful relationships with others and create one’s own emotional support network Workplace well-being – the ability to pursue one’s own interests, beliefs and values in order to gain meaning and happiness in life Societal well-being – the ability to participate in an active community or culture life.
PROJECT FOLLOWS STRATEGIC MILESTONES:
1_The joint priorities of the EU institutions for 2021-2024: The agreement of the three EU institutions will drive the Union’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, while seizing the opportunities of the climate and digital transitions. Priorities for 2021 which are targeted by the project: - shaping Europe’s Digital Decade - making Europe stronger in the world –protecting and strengthening our democracy and defending common European values Working on inclusivity and enhancing diversity in school education brings stronger and digitally powerful Europe which protects and strengthens democracy.
2_The project reflects Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) mainly in these points: - digitally competent and confident teachers and education and training staff - high-quality learning content, user-friendly tools and secure platforms which respect privacy and ethical standards
The Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) outlines the European Commission’s vision for high-quality, inclusive and accessible digital education in Europe. The project In-Di tackles topics
of equal approach to education, well-being of all learners, strengthening the role of digitalization in everyd y life etc.
3_In connection with European Education Area partners will seeks to foster cooperation between partner countries and institutions to further enrich the quality and inclusiveness of national education and training systems. Particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will try to prevent structural barriers to learning and skills development from impacting citizens’ employment prospects and participation in society.
4_ Research of EC for Economic, Policy Analysis and Affairs, according to the Research the psychological and social aspects were in fact put at great risk. The rate of depression has increased - Lancet Psychiatry Partners decided to work in the mentioned context on a topic of inclusion and well-being of learners: - present current practises and supportive activities in the countries involved, describe a role of well-being in a National or School Curricula - organize pieces of research to identify comparable data in the countries involved in the field of well being - analyse data and present strengths of different systems -- prepare training events – workshops to present guidance and counselling method.
